Sheet Metal Workers' Local 105 Apprenticeship

"Construction workers are problem solvers, that's one thing people don't realize," said Leslie Reinmiller, Director of the Sheet Metal Local 105's training center. "And that requires training."

Reinmiller took Building Trades News on a tour of Local 105's 80,000 sq-ft training center in the City of Industry where we spoke with apprentices, journeymen and instructors about the training program. Opened in 2005, the $6-million facility rivals any college. It was formerly a Pilsbury factory that now serves as a modern learning environment for the five-year apprenticeship program and continuing journeyman training. The building houses eight classrooms, including an AutoCAD lab and also features six lab areas including a welding lab, a field installation lab, two shop labs, a TAB lab and an HVAC service lab.  Read full article.
